WHO IS ANGEL AYINDE?
Angel Ayinde is a Boston-based alternative R&B artist creating immersive, atmospheric music that blends R&B, Afrobeats, Pop, and Soul. Through intimate storytelling and layered soundscapes, their work explores desire, grief, confidence, connection, and the full spectrum of human experience.
Although Angel didn’t begin creating music professionally until 2024, their musical journey started long before then. Born to a vocalist mother and later placed for adoption, Angel found that singing and music often filled in the blanks when they questioned their sense of belonging, identity, and where they came from. Over time, music became more than a creative outlet—it became a way to understand themselves, process emotion, and create the sense of connection they had always been searching for.
Identity, spirituality, and ancestry deeply influence Angel’s approach to R&B. With a personal connection to astrology and ancestral spirituality, and a desire to remain rooted in God while living fully in their queer and gender-expansive truth, Angel never wanted these parts of their identity to feel like a spectacle or take center stage in the worlds they create. In Angel’s world, they are simply normal. That intention shows up in subtle yet meaningful ways—casually singing “him” when speaking about a lover or weaving astrological references into songs like “Conceited” and “Antidote.” Rather than explaining or defending their identity, Angel allows it to exist naturally within the music as they wish it would in the world at large.
